At Phoenix Restoration, we specialize in the delicate art of historical window and glass restoration, repair and replication.
With years of experience in restoring historical properties, we are experts in working with the intricate windows, doors and glass floors found in buildings from different eras.
For stained and leaded glass windows, we provide expert cleaning, repair, and reinforcement, bringing them back to their original brilliance. If the original glass is beyond repair, we can replicate it with high accuracy, preserving the building’s historical aesthetics. We can also offer functional upgrades for improved energy efficiency and security, without altering the glass’s appearance.
As a result, we have been involved in many high-profile historical glazing projects such as the full repair and replacement of the heritage glass curtain wall, flooring and windows at Union Station and the complete refurbishing of all the wooden windows at the Canadian Stage Theatre in Toronto.
In-House Historical Glazing Facility
At our in-house glazing facility, we can expertly replicate the etches, textures, and distinctive character of historical glass, and our team is highly skilled in the conservation of stained and leaded glass found in heritage properties.
We regularly fabricate new wood and metal windows to replicate existing historical units that are beyond repair, remove existing paint and corrosion, replicate missing components and install security film and new sealants. When it comes to stain or decorative glass, we have the expertise in cutting and fitting it into new dimensions.
Window projects often require large project storage for new units. Our window glazing facility can be used for project storage and is located just minutes from Hwy 401 and 407 for easy access to the site and “just in time” delivery.
The storage area is climate and humidity controlled and we have perfected our tagging system. We understand that the heritage elements that come into our facilities are irreplaceable. Therefore, we have instituted a stringent tagging, inventorying, and storage system to protect these items from getting lost or incurring any further damage.
