With the recent spike in gas prices, we try to remember a time when a trip to the gas station was an enjoyable one. Many Toronto citizens have fond memories of stopping at the Joy Oil gas stations that were operational many years ago. Joy stations were first introduced in Canada in the 1930s with the intent of offering discounted gas prices to the public. The last existing station, which is now located on the south side of Lake Shore Blvd. West, is now a designated heritage site. Phoenix Restoration had the pleasure of restoring the historical building to its former glory, and preserving the memories held by the citizens of Toronto.
